Goodbye Lizzie Bennet :(
“We should never diminish the power of fictional stories. Do not apologize for being moved by movies, TV shows, theater, art, books, or even a webseries that puts out 5 minute episodes twice a week. Jump into them whole-heartedly and let them transform you. Let them be your friends. Why not? They want to be yours.”
Transformation from my freshman year to this past season, my senior year. The first picture was my fourth race. The second picture was at an invitational. By this time I had long lost count of how many races I had ran. I was a captain of my team and had come far in my times. I was very insecure my freshman year. I was anorexic and I would not eat. So, as a consequence, I would pass out during races. The last time I passed out was the past season, and that was simply because I did t use my inhaler, NOT because I was starving myself. After I started running, I developed abs and great legs and muscles, and I looked in the mirror and thought, wow, I look great! The more and better I ate, the better I did, and that’s how I got out of my anorexia. I can look at myself and see how strong I am. I look like a woman now, not a stick, and it’s brought me to tears before. Feeling strong and healthy is much better than being skinny. Overweight or underweight, I recommend running to anyone and everyone. It is challenging, hence why people dread it, but the progress you make will change who you are forever.
Every night I cross of the days in my calendar. But I don’t know what I’m waiting for, what I’m counting down to. Will I just keep marking off days until I can’t any more?
“Every girl is expected to have caucasian blue eyes, full Spanish lips, a classic button nose, hairless Asian skin with a California tan, a Jamaican dance hall ass, long Swedish legs, small Japanese feet, the abs of a lesbian gym owner, the hips of a nine-year-old boy, the arms of Michelle Obama and doll tits.
The person closest to actually achieving this look is Kim Kardashian, who, as we know, was made by Russian scientists to sabotage our athletes. Everyone else is struggling.”
